The Playground. One of the last few projects I did at Gnomon for Demo Reel 1. Based on a concept by Seongmin Park.
I picked this concept because I've long admired his work, and I wanted to work on a piece that was whimsical and had lots of storytelling.
I had a lot of fun working on and finishing this piece. I hope you all like it!
I used a lot of different software for this project as you can see below. I learned a lot of software at Gnomon, and I wanted to pick the best program for each task. I used Maya for the majority of the set modeling, and Zbrush for the tree and the kids. Leaves, ivy, and plants were done in Speedtree. A good portion of the texturing was done in Substance Painter, but the brick textures were done in Designer, the ground plane was Quixel Mixer, and the tree was painted in Mari. Hair in Xgen, cloth in Marvelous.
Rendered in Redshift and comped in Nuke.
